Project Manager (Manila, Philippines)

The Project Manager will be expected to work well in a multi-cultural, global and team-oriented environment. S/he will exercise a high degree of independence and autonomy in setting the direction for the systems standards, timely project deliverables and quality of systems being implemented by the team. This position will primarily focus on the project, resource planning, Quality Assurance, project monitoring and reporting; and will strictly monitor achievement of the project team’s goals and objectives. The Project Manager will ensure timely deployment of new systems / applications to meet client’s needs. S/he will monitor the quality and quantity of work performed by assigned resources, ensure effective Change Management, manage its control and communication components, effectively manage projects for both internal and external clients; and, have complete and thorough documentation of the team’s strategic plans and statistical progress reports with cost components and analysis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Project Management

  • Determine project timelines and budget; get approval from business sponsor.

  • Monitor closely project plan milestones and ensure project timelines and budget are met.

  • Communicate project updates to key project stakeholders as per process. 

  • Manage project changes effectively following the Change Management Process.

  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.

  • Ensure proper planning, execution and documentation of software quality tests and timely resolution of bugs/errors encountered.

  • Manage the work flow – make sure things are happening all the time 

  • Responsible for project resource planning, staffing, and management.

  • Ensure project steps (process) and milestones are documented.

  • Review deliverables prepared by the team before passing to Business Unit or client.

  • Effectively apply IS software development methodology and enforce project standards.

  • Prepare for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.

  • Ensure project documents are complete, current and stored appropriately

  • Manage client/customer expectations; manage day-to-day client/customer interaction.

  • Communicate effectively with clients/customers to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions. 

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Project delivery within the budget and schedule.

  • Projects meeting the stakeholders’ expectations.

  • Manage scope changed during project implementation.

  • Resource utilization

  • Performance indicators as agreed and aligned with the organizational goals as well as the positions and skills and competencies required to be demonstrated.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience in software implementation

  • PMP (Project Management Professional), ITIL, and other related certifications.

  • Able to analyze, prioritize and solve problems in a service driven organization

  • Able to manage a multi-cultural team across various time zones for global projects

  • Able to speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques.

  • Highly proficient in both Spoken and written English is a must.

  • Self-motivated leader.

  • Must be able to perform people, process and performance management. Excellent communication skills.

  • Be able to coach and advise team members and other resources.
